The BC Fire Expo will open at 1100 hours on Sunday. The BC Fire Expo will close at 1900 hours and re-open Monday morning at 0900 hours. Please plan to attend both days and support our Trades! New Members Orientation

New Members Orientation

If you are new to the Association, a newly appointed senior officer, or a first time conference delegate, you should plan on attending this very informative orientation session. This course goes well beyond what happens at the conference and includes information on legislation, LAFC's, training and education as well as the myriad of rules and regulations that face us every day.

BC Fire Expo Prize Draws

BC Fire Expo Prize Draws

There will be prize draws on both Sunday and Monday with CASH draws taking place as well. The last CASH Draw  takes place at 1445 hours on Monday on the trade floor. Remember to bring your ticket! You must be in attendance to win!  Various prize draws will be made by individual Trades at their respective display booths from time to time throughout the days.  The prize winners will be posted at these display booths making the draw(s).  The BC Fire Expo officially ends at 1500 hours on Monday ...Hide.

The IAFF Contract Chiefs meeting will be held on Monday morning at a meeting room at the BC Fire Expo. This meeting is only open to Career Chiefs that manage a department with an IAFF Contract. ...Hide.

ALL PERSONS – wishing to have access to any event, meeting, meals, BC Fire Expo, and receptions must be registered for the FCABC conference.

The “BC Fire Expo Day Pass”, is so that partners, co-workers, and friends may gain access to these events and facilities without having to be a conference delegate, presenter, BC Fire Expo representative or enrolled in the partners program.

Please note, there is a separate charge for each day of the BC Fire Expo.  No access to the trade floor or  receptions will be given to anyone not having the appropriate supplied name badge.  Don’t forget to keep it with you at all times. ...Hide.

The registration desk for delegates will be at the BC Fire Expo and will open at 1100 hours on Sunday and will continue to be open for the remainder of the BC Fire Expo before moving to the Host Hotel. ...Hide.

The Opening Ceremonies and Memorial Service are held Monday at 1800 hours with the piping in of the colour party and the dignitaries. After the national anthems our President will officially declare the conference open and introduce the dignitaries. A conference blessing and brief messages from the dignitaries follows with the Memorial Service recognizing those members and past members and the firefighters that have answered the last alarm in the past year. A no host bar will be available before the banquet beginning after the Opening Ceremony. An excellent gourmet dinner is a continuation of the formalities with presentations and entertainment taking place after dinner. ...Hide.

Educational Sessions

Educational Sessions

The Education Summit and Annual General Meetings take place at the Host Hotel.
Dress is casual and uniform is not required.
We want you to be comfortable so you learn lots to take home with you.
Any Registered Delegate can attend the educational sessions.

There will be short educational sessions starting at 0715 hours Tuesday to Thursday. Coffee and tea will be available at 0700 to get you going, as well as interesting and informative topics. 
Each session is 60 minutes and it is usually not repeated.

Lunches

Lunches are provided each day. Registered RCOC members will join us on Tuesday and the registered Partners will join us Thursday. Please let us know if you have any food allergies. ...Hide.

Educational Sessions start on Tuesday morning. Each year the Education Committee reviews the current trends and tries to match the speakers with those trends. There may be concurrent sessions offered for various time slots and they may or may not be repeated.

Theme Night

Our theme night and dinner is enjoyed by all.  This is a casual evening so come relaxed and use your imagination to dress in costume related to the theme of the evening.  Each and every year the theme night sells out during registration – so don’t forget to indicate the number of tickets you need when registering.  Remember that the 50/50 draw will have all proceeds going to the FCABC scholarships - and the auction items for the partners program charities. ...Hide.

Don’t forget to bring an item from your hometown that can be placed in the silent auction.  All funds raised (no administration charges) go to charities of the partner’s group choosing. ...Hide.

Meals

Meals

Because of commitments to caterers, all meals must be pre-purchased. There may be a very limited supply of extra tickets available, but there are no guarantees.

There will be coffee, fruit and muffins served before each daily session but not breakfast. Lunches for the week will be included in your complete package price.
